NEW: Euphoria the little flame series book 7 Melissa Lummis

The latest Little Flame novella is live on all sites! Fia fans, this is the most intense rollercoaster ride so far so you better buckle up.

I’ve been granted a second chance at life, so what do I do? Screw it all to hell. I had a fresh start; the past was behind me and everything was possible.

Yeah, right. Should have known something bad, bad, bad was lurking in the shadows.

When bulletproof Dee comes down with an inexplicable illness—demons do NOT get sick—my past crashes the party. So do I make a deal with the devil himself, my soul in exchange for Dee’s life, or do I put everyone’s lives on the line by taking my chances with fate—because that always works out so well.

This is a no-brainer, right?

I guess I can kiss my ass—and Max—goodbye.

                                              About the Author

Melissa Lummis considers herself a truth seeker and a peaceful warrior, in addition to a paranormal and fantasy author. With too many interests for her own good, she has rarely been content with one vocation. Her first professional life was as a high school English teacher, which led to another incarnation as a wife and an instructional designer /technical writer. After starting a family, she found herself reincarnated as a mother, yoga instructor, and personal trainer.

While all her past lives have contributed to who she is today, yoga has become a part of how she gives back, maintaining her Registered Yoga Teacher status with Yoga Alliance so she can help people one-on-one to overcome physical limitations and heal themselves. But she has always been and always will be a writer. She's authored dozens of wellness articles for various publications, as well as maintains a blog focusing on wellness, healing, and living a life on purpose.

She is an author of new age suspense in a fantasy setting, but her stories are also straight up, steamy adult romance. The Love and Light Series is currently available at most e-book retailers, as well as the Little Flame Series, a spin off focusing on the character Fiamette from the Love and Light world.

A Yankee by birth and a Penn State graduate, she lives in rural Virginia with her husband, two children, an Alaskan Malamute, and a myriad of forest creatures. Melissa believes the universe conspires to help an adventurer, and if we live our lives as if it is a daring escapade (and it is!), then everything we need will find its way to us.

Review: Not So Picture Perfect by Amber C. Carlyle

New Orleans native and private investigator Yumi Matthews finds herself steeped in a murder investigation – a far cry from the vision of reuniting people with their missing loved ones. Still, she devotes herself to investigating these supposedly unsolvable mysteries as a way to distract herself from the haunting disappearance of her own brother 10 years ago.
Yet, while at this latest crime scene, she unveils a bizarre clue into her brother’s cold case, which terrifies and excites her all at once. As she digs deeper into the case, the lines between reality and fantasy blur, causing her to question everything she knows. A cast of strangers gather around her, from the familiar Detective Joshua Boulliard to the new, and possibly dangerous, Ash. How far is she willing to go to discover the truth surrounding these mysterious clues?

My Review:

I love murder mystery/detective/police/thrillers etc. This author didn't disappoint me. PI Yumi is investigate a murder. She likes to dig in cold cases to help their families find peace. And to keep her mind of the disappearance of her own brother. Talking about him, while she was on her latest case, she found a clue about her brother, exciting she digs in more again. Soon she feels she is losing contact with reality or is she not?

Good, well written mystery, lots of plots and turns, mystery and some paranormal. Love anything about, in and around New Orleans, the author takes us on a interesting trip, I only wished the character were more deep, more about their background. They stay a mystery in away. but besides that 5 stars ad thumbs up! Looking forwards to more.

Review: Sapphire Beautiful by Ren Monterrey

Sapphire Beautiful by Ren Monterrey

We both joined The Club and made an arrangement. I got the money to pay my mortgage and he got access to my body, whenever and however he wanted it...
SAPPHIRE BEAUTIFUL, a new full-length, stand-alone novel in Ren Monterrey's THE CLUB series.
I never imagined that I'd be starting my fifth year as a faculty member in the Medieval Studies department as a thirty-two-year-old widow. I'm sure to be the butt of every joke around campus as the collateral damage of a sex scandal that made national headlines. And my husband left me completely broke after he killed himself.
I don't want to lose my house and all the money I invested in it so I make an arrangement through The Club. I'll get what I need...money to get out of the financial ruins my dead husband left me in. And Dante McNally will get what he wants...access to my body...whenever and however he wants it...
There's only one catch. Dante is one of our new graduate students and the recipient of a prestigious research fellowship funded by his billionaire father. And this is the year I'm supposed to be applying for tenure.

My Review:

Loved this book, actually stayed up almost whole night because I had to know how it went on. We meet Dr. Mary Pine, who finds herself a widow at the age of thirtytwo. Nothing could prepare her for the mess her husband left her in. Bills stacked up and not payed, no money left in their account. She doesn't want to lose her house too. Then she overhears students talking about "The club" and how you easily make money, money Mary desperately needs to keep her house where she had her parents inherited in.
She takes her chance and call the club and arrange a "date". Here is where she meets Dante a twenty two year old guy from old money, she is worried he on't want her but she couldn't be more wrong.  Dante soon introduce her as his girlfriend, which scares Mary, but she is very smitten with the guy.

But then the new student who is supposed to be their research student appears to be .... Dante. Mary doesn't know what to do. "dating" a student is a big NO.
How it all plays out is for you to find out, go buy the book you on't regret it, the book is well written, characters are nice, I love Mary and Dante. Nice love story, you will find yourself totally with them and understand them, without judging. I sure hope there will be more Dante & Mary.

Little side  note: I don't think the cover of the book does this sweet story justice.

Who doesn’t love the villains? By- Melissa Baldwin

While writing my novels I love bringing my characters to life. This is especially true for the villains. Honestly, who doesn’t love a good villain? My novels are filled with these individuals who love to make life difficult for the heroine/hero, these characters include the horrible boss, jealous cousins, and the not so loyal boyfriend. Villains come in all different shapes and sizes and that’s what makes their characters so much fun to write and too read about. Of course in the end I always want good to win over evil but the villain is always the one to keep the story exciting.

This got me thinking abut my favorite villain of all time. Of course being the Disney fan that I am, I immediately thought of our beloved Disney villains. This year my daughter wants our family to do a villain theme for Halloween and there are so many fantastically wicked possibilities. From Maleficent to Cruella de Vil, Disney always delivers the worst of the worst or is it the best of the best? ☺ So, who is my favorite villain of all time? The truth is, I can’t decide because I love them all and I can’t wait to bring my next villain to life!

Reviews: The Path by Tawdra Kandle & All for Family by Olivia Hardin

Abby Donavan came to the small beach community of Crystal Cove to start over. After a painful affair broke her heart and derailed her burgeoning career, taking over management for the just-opened bed-and-breakfast was the safe choice. In this sleepy town, Abby figured she could bury her memories and forget the pain.
When the chance to have her own hotel falls into her lap, though, she can’t resist the temptation. Making the old Riverside Inn into the showplace she’s always dreamed of running offers the second chance she never expected.
Abby didn’t expect another kind of second chance to land on her doorstep at the same time. Ryland Kent wants to help her bring the Riverside back to life, and his passion for restoration is irresistible. But as much as she wants to ignore it, she can’t help seeing another spark in his eyes . . . one that offers to reignite her own flame.
Sometimes the path to a happily-ever-after is anything but smooth.

Tawdra did it again, another series I adore from her, in the third book of the Crystal Cove we learn more about Abby,, she quits at the B&B leaving it in good hands. She will run the Old Riverside Inn, she needs however first renovate it, she meets Ryland when she checks it out before the renovation starts. Abby has the feeling someone is watching her, but when Ryland appears she blames that feeling on him. They start on a total wrong foot.
We will meet a few people of the other books too again! Jude and Logan. Joseph, Cooper & Emmy etc.
Emmy can't lose the feeling there is someone or something around her when she is in the Inn. If she & Ryland get together or  stay "friends" will Emmy find out one day who is still attached to the Inn? you have to read for yourself,

I adore Tawdra Kandle and her books, this one is so good, I love the characters, story is strong, has a fun twist and entertaining. I really love Crystal Cove and the people in it, I have the feeling I know them and see the town before me.
I highly recommend this book, but while you are at it read the whole series it is so worth it and you get to know the gang, what you are waiting for, the first book is free at this moment! You won't regret it.

One day Max bounces in a charming, funny guy in Hawaiian shirt and so not Izzy's type, he keeps hanging around Izzy and get her to go for dinner with him. Izzy however has a dark secret.

About the author:
Amber CHorror, Fantasy, Humor Nothing thrills me more than a wonderful blend of those three elements, and that’s what I strive to bring to the words in my books: whether it’s an urban fantasy suspense/mystery, or a fantasy short story taking the reader down a dark and wayward road. Life is rarely so black and white to be just any one of these things, and humor can be as dark as it can be light. It also has a great way of cutting the tension, even if not everyone finds it funny. That’s okay. It’s good that we’re all different in the end. But, no need to fret. I try to incorporate my own weird, and probably twisted humor, into the things I discuss. Some are things that catch my fancy that I just need to share, others are serious topics that I can’t help myself but state. Most times, they will be the little things that inspire me to keep writing. I pull inspiration from my shows, movies, and games (video, board, and tabletop RPGs). The littlest thing can spark my brain into running a marathon disseminating the information until it resembles what it needs it to. I want to share my passions in this world, and that’s more than just my own writings. I love to be engrossed by a world that let’s me walk its own twisted paths. It doesn’t have to be glamorous, and it doesn’t have to be happy. But it has to be a good story, and the best stories have to be shared. I want to share my best stories with you, and I want to share the stories by others that move me.

Amazon Review - This book has websites and gives help as to how to build your audience. For someone like me it has to be dumbed down enough for me to understand and I had no problem following her how to’s. 5 Misconceptions about Writing Fiction
It never ceases to amaze me when I tell someone I've written a novel, they say, "I've always wanted to write a novel." It seems everyone thinks they, too, can write a novel. All they have to do is put pen to paper.
That leads me to think about my 5 misconceptions about fiction writing.
Number 1: Everyone has a novel in them. This conception just isn't true. That's like saying everyone can paint a picture. Some of us have the skill and ability to write and others do not. Those of us who put the pen to paper or in this day and age, the words on a screen, know how hard that task is. Often after many months of work we still struggle to find the right place for our work. Just like the visual artist, the literary artist is not something we can all do.
Number 2: Fiction writing is simply writing what you know. Again, if that were the case, most of us would run out of material very quickly. We know just so much. Furthermore, fiction writers will tell you that they may begin with an idea that came out of their experiences, but that idea turns into something very different. If fiction writing were simply writing what we know, where in the world does Stephen King get his ideas?
Number 3: Fiction writers tell "lies." I have heard this many times. Those of us who create fiction are nothing more that sophisticated liars.  Right? Gosh I hate this misconception! We do not lie; we create. The art of fiction is creating a world for the reader with people they can relate to. The world and the people do not exist. But, as fiction writers, we strive to make both as close to the truth as we can.
Number 4: If you write fiction, you don't need to do any research. This is another misconception and it relates to number 3 above. How many times have you, as a reader, gotten upset with the novelist because you say, "That could never happen"? Indeed if you come out of the story, even briefly with that thought, we, fiction writers, have failed. We must not only research our place and the events that occur in our place, but we must also research our characters and their personalities. We must know them as real people. Furthermore, the dialogue must sound genuine. I eavesdrop on conversations around me, not to discover content, but to hear the rhythm of the talk so I can re-create the way people speak.
Number 5: Writing fiction is easy because you can change events or kill off characters on a whim. Nonfiction is harder because the writer must stay within the reality of the situation. Granted we can kill people off if we want to, but the story and the characters have more control than people realize. In The Clock Strikes Midnight I literally had a character tapping me on the shoulder wanting tell her side of things. Finally I relented. I wrote an entire section from her point of view. Had I ignored her or fought against her prodding, I would have gotten stuck. In reality, we cannot change the plot or kill off characters at will. Our fictitious worlds have more control on what we write than our readers realize.

Buy Links: Amazon B&N

I Love this series the first book School of deaths was a great start of it and this is the second book and I thought it sounds good well it was great! I love Susan Frank and Billy they are strong characters each with a strong story on them self. Susan (Suzie) is the first female death  in a men world in a long, long time.
Which result that she is picked on a lot, but positive attention as well.
The Deaths are attacked and Suzie wouldn't be Suzie if she stood up fr the mentals knowing they are innocent. It all comes to another war when the Dragons come. Suzie and her friends think to know who is behind it all, they try the hardest to save their world ad proof the Mentals are innocent.

I hope you all will enjoy this series as much a I did as I said the characters are great. lots of adventure in it and it  can be read by YA and up.
Look forwards to book three.

I have one question for the Author, "How as Frank able to hide the strawberry smell?"

Lynn Rowan started writing stories as a small child, usually starring her favorite cartoon characters. Most of her work through middle and high school was filled with typical teenage angst and melodrama, and usually mirrored the books she loved to read. But eventually she found her own author’s voice and decided to seriously pursue a writing career. Historical fiction remains J. Lynn’s “first love”, but she has enjoyed the journey to becoming an author of romance and chick lit. She is a member of Romance Writers of America, the Central New York Romance Writers, and the Historical Novel Society. She is also a teacher who tries to instill a love of learning, reading, and writing in her students. When she’s not writing, J. Lynn enjoys travelling, gardening poorly but enthusiastically, studying various topics in American history for her own expertise, and channeling Julia Child every time she steps into the kitchen. A native of Oswego, NY, she now lives in Charlotte, NC, with her own Romantic Hero of a husband and the most adorable baby on the planet.
