                                                    Guest Post:

How much of White Night is autobiographical?
You know, with the exception of a couple of “anecdotes” and the setting of the story in the town I grew up in, very little. People who know me will actually laugh when they read of Jo’s dedication to her school work and having little interest in high school social life. That was definitely NOT me.

But I did infuse the story with feelings from my life. I paid tribute to some in the book (and they know who they are). Honestly, I have to say that Jo’s epiphany at the end is all me. My life circumstances were nowhere near what Jo’s were, but what she learned – that was all me. I’m grateful that I learned it before I die. I really don’t want to go through what she did! LOL!

For the record, the only “true” stories about me are the college stories and the Easter Sunday car trip.

moorigad tour banner moorigad the dragon
A Magical Universe… Hidden throughout the worlds are magical portals leading to the secret dimension where Mystic’s Carnival is nestled. A self-aware fair that is both carnival and circus combined, and filled with a plethora of supernatural and paranormal beings. Performers and runaways, Kyra and Sebastian, are away visiting the human realm when they find themselves at odds. Stay hidden, or interfere with a human’s destiny? Saving a life doesn’t go unpunished. Kyra thinks saving Marcus’s life is easy – slick as dragon snot – and a one-time deal. The resulting bond tying her to him and enslaving her as protector is unexpected. She didn’t expect one good deed to turn into an endless chain of good deeds. Or to complicate the relationship with her best friend, Sebastian. And she especially didn’t expect it to place her life on the line. Kyra’s dragon must keep Marcus alive and salvage her relationship with Sebastian without losing herself or dying.

Whether it’s due to basic fear or the scary, hideous clowns, Sara and Matt run. Run beyond the tent walls into the deep, dark alleys of the carnival. Review: Dictating Death by Bonnie R. Paulson

This book is not light reading. There are graphic scenes and there is not HEA. NOT intended for teens or young adults. Again, this is not light reading. Violence and craziness. You’ve been warned.***Samantha wants to love him.Maria wants to kill him.
Dr. Luke Lawson has no idea that the girl he’s dating has split personalities fighting to control her body. Samantha must keep Luke safe at all costs.
If Samantha wins, Maria will die and disappear forever – taking Samantha with her.
If Maria wins, Dr. Lawson will die and she and Samantha will move on to the next doctor – the next kill.
But Luke is special.
He could save Samantha from herself… but only if Samantha can save him.

As the intro says it is not a light reading but I love this kind of dark books. It is about Rebecca/Samantha/Maria although for most of the book you will get to know Samantha/Maria. you get a perfect look on a damaged, abused woman who hide into other personalities to deal with it all. It is not confusing, I found it quiet clear.
It is a fast paced story from a woman so damaged, she kills to get to the perfect kill, her abuser, she gets more and more violent. They also have a inner "fight" between the girls. It is amazing to me how the author could get into the dark side and create such a perfect story, I felt sorry for her.... Good strong story, I loved the girls and was sad about the ending. I really recommend this book to people who like dark kinda stories, also who like Psycho Thrillers.
Although I sofar liked all the books I read from Bonnie, I can't wait to read more from her in this style.

My Review:

Alyssa is twelve years l when her parents die in a car accident, she goes to live with an uncle, who is cruel and abuses her. Alyssa decides to run away and search for her guardian, who is working hard to be able to get custody. She discovers magic and soon others are after her too. She wants to safe her city but before she can she is kidnapped.

It is a fun book for kids 12 years and up. Alyssa is a cute character, you just gotta love her. The story goes in a steady pace with lots of magic an (sometimes a bit to much?) Fantasy. All in all a good boo, fun for YA and older. Your kids will enjoy it!

Defcon Darcy by A. J. Lape Book Blast

defcon darcy tour banner DefconDarcy-COLORRGB72Fisher Stanton, Valley High School’s Nantucket wannabe, has a cheating girlfriend. When he hires Darcy Walker to chase her to a local club, in true Darcy fashion she stumbles upon a dead body. Thing is, this body has secrets...and Darcy’s mysterious friend, Jaws, and the reporter, Tito Westbrook, have a vested interest. Both enlist Darcy to find the person responsible who has eluded them for years, but Darcy doesn’t solve crimes for free anymore, especially where Jaws is concerned. Knowing Darcy’s Achilles heel, Jaws blackmails Darcy into working for him. In a true test of wills, Darcy and Jaws battle head-to-head to see who can outsmart the other—Jaws needs Darcy to help him end a bitter grudge war; Darcy needs Jaws to divulge the mystery surrounding her mother’s death. Haunted by a past that shaped her present, Darcy will stop at nothing to get answers. Even if it means breaking the law and being disloyal to her new boyfriend, Dylan Taylor, in the process. DEFCON DARCY gives Darcy’s demons a name and ties up loose ends that made Darcy into the verb that she is. What she thinks she knows as truth, isn’t. What she wishes wasn’t true…is. The problem is, when your life goes DEFCON 1, not everyone lives to tell about it. Put Defcon Darcy on your TBR list! Goodreads

Kay’s been on Audrick Van Buren’s radar since the day she walked into his classroom two years ago. That admiration only grew when she came to work for his firm. But if there’s anything he recognizes, it’s a woman who’s driven–and Kay is definitely one. It’s all he can do to keep his distance and allow her the chance to come into her own. What Van doesn’t know is that someone else is watching Kay, too, and if he doesn’t step between them, that person might not only derail her career but threaten her very life. Things aren’t always what they seem, and Kay’s about to learn that the best laid plans are so much better when they go astray.

When Olivia Hardin started having movie-like dreams in her teens, she had no choice but to begin putting them to paper. Before long, the writing bug had bitten her, and she knew she wanted to be a published author. Several rejections plus a little bit of life later, she was temporarily “cured” of the urge to write. That is, until she met a group of talented and fabulous writers who gave her the direction and encouragement she needed to get lost in the words again. Olivia has attended three different universities over the years and toyed with majors in Computer Technology, English, History and Geology. Then one day she heard the term “road scholar,”’ and she knew that was what she wanted to be. Now she “studies” anything and everything just for the joy of learning. Guest Post College for Convicts by Christopher Zoukis

The United States accounts for 5 percent of the world’s population, yet incarcerates about 25 percent of the world’s prisoners. Examining a wealth of studies by researchers and correctional professionals, and the experience of educators, this book shows recidivism rates drop in direct correlation with the amount of education prisoners receive, and the rate drops dramatically with each additional level of education attained.
Presenting a workable solution to America’s mass incarceration and recidivism problems, this book demonstrates that great fiscal benefits arise when modest sums are spent educating prisoners. Educating prisoners brings a reduction in crime and social disruption, reduced domestic spending and a rise in quality of life.

                                                                Guest Post:

I never know what to write in guest blogs, but usually I find that people like to know a little bit about the inspiration and the reason I write. For me, the need to write came about because I was incarcerated. I needed another way to talk about what I was going through, and I thought- maybe there are others out there like me, that want to know more about this world that I live in. So once I started writing I realized that it’s not always easy, but I always tell people and writers of all kinds, just because the road is tough or people tell you that you can't do something, doesn't mean you can't. It just means that they think you can't. The very fact that I, a federal prisoner, managed to create several popular websites, write and publish several books and effectively advocate for prisoner’s rights, education, and social justice really shows that if there is a will, there is a way. But for most writers it’s all about finding a way. And that’s the challenge for authors. Sometimes it can feel daunting to dedicate yourself to the written word. They always tell you to read, read, read, but then sometimes the more you read the more inadequate you can feel. You think to yourself “man, this person can really write.

How am I ever going to compete with this?” I think the key here is that you can’t compete. Your story is your story. It isn’t anyone else’s. If you let those demons in and don’t grab onto your authentic voice then you will never succeed. It’s not a career for the fainthearted. But it you really feel that you have to get your story out- then you have to muster up your strength and don’t let anyone do or say anything to get in your way. For me, my aim in writing has always been to make a difference, to make the world a better place. I find a problem and I craft a solution. But maybe your writing is about a meaningful story about your family, or a friend or something you saw that happened, or that you found interesting. Other people may be part of that story but no one except you can tell it the way you do. Your view will always be unique. So I think it’s vital to view writing and those authors that you admire as part of a community, not a competition. We compete for too many things these days. If I can reach one reader who takes my book and says “wow I never knew about this before, I should let my friend know,” then that means the world to me. So if you are feeling a little down about your work, have some faith and remember my motto of fight the good fight, love like there is no tomorrow, and remember who you are. It will all come out in your writing!

Riding for Redemption Excerpt

The courage to wheel down that ramp and across the drive to the barn almost tapped

Sara Beth out. No, she wasn’t weakened physically by it. Emotionally… well, that was a

different story. Since talking with Rosie, Sara Beth finally understood that she needed Johnny. She

didn’t have any friends and he made her feel… like she could love herself again. Even

while she saw herself as broken and without value, Johnny didn’t seem to notice the legs

or even the weakened forearms. He held her hand or spoke to her like she could irritate

him with just a glance – giving no pardon to her because of her disability.

A dip between the paved drive and the cement jammed her front wheel. She rocked

back and forth to dislodge it. But nothing. She threw her head back and closed her eyes.

Come on. Not right now. It was hard enough to make it that far.

Maybe if she tried rolling the larger wheels back and forth while moving her body,

she might be able to dislodge the tires. That might work. She thrust her chest forward and

then pushed on the wheels and heaved back at the same time.

Too much force toppled her backwards and the chair upended – with the stupid

wheels still stuck.

“Oomph.” The air knocked out of Sara Beth and she gasped for a moment, clutching

at the sore spot on the back of her head. Clinging to the wheel rims had saved her a worse

fall, but how did she get out of where she’d fallen? She’d end up in some horrible fallen-

and-can’t-get-up infomercial. Crud, what did she do?

Ego beaten and left for dead, she leaned up on her elbows and pulled until her legs

dislodged from the seat, coming to flop beside the wheels. She glared at the worthless

limbs. Oh, how she wanted to cut them off sometimes.

Other times she wanted to… walk. “What am I doing?” She whispered to the grass and her lifeless lower limbs.

Everything was turned upside down and not just literally.

How was she going to get back inside? What did she do? Scream?

Considering the open options and short of just standing and walking the heck out of

there, Sara sneered at what she had to do. She inhaled deep and hollered loud. “Help! Can

someone help?” Heat flooded her face and she hoped Michael came running, or even one

of the older ranch hands. Not Johnny. Please, not Johnny.

I read the two books in almost one sit, they are so good! you can read them apart from each other but I recommend both. In the first book you will read more about Sara Beth and her sister's past. This book is a follow up and just as good! I so enjoy the story Sara's dreams and future seems t be ruined when she gets a bad accident, will everything be lost? what about her dream to become Miss Wrangler Montana and then there is Johnny the one that finds and saves her, will their friendship that bloomed up be ruined when love gets involved. Will Sara accept what us going on and move on, Will she still find her three mysterious sisters? ,,,, who knows go get the books!!!

In case you d want to read book 1 first, Romancing Redemption (Redemption Series Book 1)

The United States accounts for 5 percent of the world's population, yet incarcerates about 25 percent of the world's prisoners. Examining a wealth of studies by researchers and correctional professionals, and the experience of educators, this book shows recidivism rates drop in direct correlation with the amount of education prisoners receive, and the rate drops dramatically with each additional level of education attained. Presenting a workable solution to America's mass incarceration and recidivism problems, this book demonstrates that great fiscal benefits arise when modest sums are spent educating prisoners. Educating prisoners brings a reduction in crime and social disruption, reduced domestic spending and a rise in quality of life.

Review Outsystem by M. D. Cooper

Major Richards needs to get out of the Sol System
Demoted by the military and hung out to dry, the media labels her the Butcher of Toro. Despite her soiled record, Tanis still one of the best military counter-insurgency officers in the Terran Space Force.
And they need her to find the terrorists responsible for trying to destroy the GSS Intrepid, a massive interstellar colony ship in the final phases of construction at the Mars Outer Shipyards.
It’ll be her ticket out of the Sol system, but Tanis discovers she is up against more than mercenaries and assassins. Major corporations and governments have a vested interest in ensuring the Intrepid never leaves Sol, ultimately pitting Tanis against factions inside her own military.
With few friends left, Tanis will need to fight for her life to get outsystem.

I Loved Tania, such a strong and smart character, She is good at what she does, but people don't appreciate her. The book has a lot of action and mystery, the Author has a way of writing that let you see the world he created and you can place yourself in the characters shoes.  It even has some humor! Every human also has some kind of technology in them, it makes it all way cool! My Sci Fi side is very pleased!!!
