Review First impression by Pauline Creeden

Book Description

 March 22, 2014
Chira Kelly thought she didn’t need anyone…until she met Ben.

Because of one ugly rumor, Chira lives as an outcast at her school. Which is fine with her, because she works better alone. Always has, always will. And at least she has her one and only true friend, Tasha. When Tasha insists that they join a group to visit a possibly haunted abandoned old schoolhouse, she's wary, but joins her friend. Because of that decision, their lives are in jeopardy as a malevolent spirit targets the group. Tragedies and accidents pick them off one by one, and Chira finds herself drawn to the one person who can see the truth. But can he protect her?

My Review:

Great beginning of new series, You get to know Chira a girl living with her mother and step dad , last is nit to nice to Chira. She is a loner besides her best friend Tasha. When she meets a new boy in school Ben, he has a dark past but is friendly and has a good hart. Chira feels drawn to him, but keeps him on a distance same time.

When Tasha asks her to come on a visit to a abandoned house what was the start of their school, she doesn't really want to, they say it is haunted, but she is going to support Tasha. They get the scare of their life and life as they know it is done. One after the other fall to freak things and she is next??? Good thing that there is Ben who can see truth, and together they go to find out what is going on.

I can not wait to read more of this author, I very much enjoyed this  mystery and paranormal filled story.

Review: A Lady's Plight by Katy Walters

Lady Isabella Winton waits years to marry her fiancé, but Lord Alexander Fitzroy, a reformed rake, always finds an excuse to delay the nuptials.

With the marriage set for the next month, Fitzroy tells her he is needed in Belgium almost immediately. He warns her it may be dangerous for her to accompany him.
Isabella suspects he is bluffing. Brussels is the centre of a social whirl. She looked forward elaborate dinners and extravagant balls. Fearing Fitzroy may have returned to his rakish ways, she insists on travelling with him.
Isabella is unaware that Lord Everard Ladness, heir to a dukedom, is obsessed with her and will go to any lengths to possess her.

                                                                  My Review:

Lady Isabella insist on going with her fiancee to war area but they need to be married first, her father arrange a special marriage license to marry in a short time. There is however a Lord Everard that is obsessed with her and refuse to accept that she is engaged, in his mind she is his,  He does anything to get her, Even an attempt to kidnap. Isabella is glad that she leaves England to go with her husband and happy to hear her best friend and her husband and brother with his bride will follow soon! To both Alexander's and Isabella's horror they find out that Lord Everard is in the war zone too. He seems however to accept that Issabela is married after her mother smacked him on the head with her umbrella at church, till that one day, Issabella is kidnapped again................................ Will Alexander ever see his wife again? Will the be happy again and build their lives together?
Good story, romance and excitement, lovable characters. worth the money, but that is my two cents.

Peacock Swamp: Book 1 | The Nine

In 2064, The Nine are preparing to assemble. This board of individuals is President Madame LaFonte’s solution to an ailing nation in search of medical care. While it seemed ideal at first, the folks of the borough are quickly discovering it isn’t quite what it seems. The lucky ones are issued a red gown and another chance at life. That’s the happy ending. However, not everyone gets a red gown. The others have to make their own second chance at life--if they’ve got the heart to do what it takes. When the superstitions of the swamplands run just as deep as the mud, every little bit of luck helps. They named her Vitalia, a name that means life. But her name was the only advantage that she had. In need of a heart transplant, Vita leaves Peacock Swamp behind to stand before The Nine. With her family by her side, they run into the dangers that government healthcare has created: an underground medical clinic that services the rejected citizens...for a price. Release Day Diva presents : Objective release day

My story started out cliche, good girl falls for bad boy, but one wrong move changed all that. Turns out the good girl doesn’t save the bad boy. My story goes from cliche to risque to mind blowing. My story is different from all the others because the events of my story led me to one thing...my objective.

Remembering him comes in dreams and flashbacks that I can't control. I tell myself it’s time to let go...but moving on from him is impossible when I still see our lives in my head.

When you kill your soul mate you don’t ever really recover.

A year of trying to forget or rather move past it has taught me that you can't. Its an impossibility to move on from that kind of horrific form of betrayal. If you you’re too selfish or scared for suicide, like me, you learn to wake up every morning and follow routine. One foot in front of the other, day after day.

Hollow. Lifeless. Haunted. Loving him was like the sun on a summer day. Living without him is like slowly burning to death. Torture.

A Bloodlines Novel.
*Note Tug of War is the 1st in the Bloodlines books, each book can be read as a stand alone book.*

Meet the author:

I live in a Sussex village near to the Regency towns. Before writing a novel, I visit one of them to soak up the elegance of the architecture, trying to enter the atmosphere of those far-gone times. Whilst walking through narrow cobbled streets, I imagine horse drawn carriages rollicking past, of ladies in Empire fashion, of feathered bonnets and velvet pelisses, of nankeen breeches and starched cravats. Even today, the same bay fronted shop windows replete with mullioned windows yawn over narrow pavements. The only changes being the wares; an empire dress swapped for a top and miniskirt. Best of all, is stepping down rickety steps into an oak beamed tearoom, with a leaning floor, where log fires crackle in open grates, the air filled with the rich aroma of tansy and cinnamon cakes. Katy has a BA(Hons)Psych, BA Eng.Lit and Creative Writing, MA. Hon Doc. for research into complementary methods of pain control.

Guest post Savage Secrets by Cristin Harber

Caterina Cruz has no home. No loyalties. No objection to exacting torturous revenge. Her life’s mission is to destroy the terrorist who murdered her family. Then she steps into an elaborate game of charades alongside a Titan Group operative posing as an arms dealer—and her newlywed husband. The sexy distraction may be more than she can handle.
Attacked with a psychedelic drug weeks before, Rocco Savage is plagued with hallucinations that threaten his new rank as Titan’s second-in-command. No one knows and he wants to keep it that way. Throwing him further off his game, he now has a wife with her own secrets he can’t crack and an agenda he can’t control.
Their mission—an elaborate deception of heated glances and passionate kisses—spins out of control. With Rocco’s mind already compromised, can he keep his secret and his distance? And with Caterina’s tragic past controlling her every move, can she keep the con up long enough to secure her revenge? Or will both go down in flames
Guest Post
When Characters Ignore Me
Rocco Savage is an easy going guy in the Titan series. He handles responsibility well, but he has always been down for a little gossip, some gym time, and vegging in front of the TV. Initially, I imagined his character was a little goofy.
I. Was. Wrong. In a major way.
Rocco is deep. The dark moments that piled on him nearly broke my heart as I sat at my computer typing and crying. Staying true to a character’s voice is hard and there are a few unbelievably gut churning moments in Savage Secrets. More than once I thought it would be easier to type out a “happier” dark moment.
The dark times in Savage Secrets reach into your chest and tear out your heart. I tried to write something a little more… fluffy. It was nice. It read fine. But I hated it more than I hated the hell I put Cat and Roc through. That’s because it wasn’t their story. It was something I conjured up because I was scared of where they took me. In the end, the fluffier, lighter ending ended up in a deleted scenes folder.
When you read along with Roc and Cat, I hope you feel their pain and their triumph. It’s the way they told their story and the only way I could recount it. Their love is one for the record books.
