Review: Enchanted Hearts by Belinda Boring

Book Description

 December 14, 2012
Join author Belinda Boring in her first ever New Adult Romance Fantasy novella.

Overview:

Three enchanted hearts . . .
Two honorable men . . .
One important choice . . .
An unforgettable Midsummer Night's Festival.

** This novella is approximately 35,600 words and part of the A Midsummer Night's Anthology with authors Lacey Weatherford and Kamery Solomon **

Blurb:

How do you choose between mere moments and a lifetime?

Aithne was raised on fairytales, spending hours daydreaming about meeting one of the elusive Fae. Little did she know, hidden in the shadows, a Fae Prince stood watching. All it took was one glance and Hadrian became enchanted, unable to stay away. Revealing his presence, Aithne's life was forever changed as her childhood fantasies of magic became a reality.

With each encounter, Aithne fell deeper in love and even though she knew Hadrian couldn't offer her the future she craved, it was enough. That was until William, the local blacksmith's son and friend, stepped forward. Wearing his own heart on his sleeve, and eager to claim Aithne as his wife, there was nothing William wouldn't do for the girl he loved. Even if it meant risking it all at the Midsummer Night's festival.

I reviewed this book for the Release Day Diva

Review: The Emerald tablet by Joshua Silverman

Book Description

 September 15, 2012
Leoros doesn't have many friends. As the son of a scientist and archeologist, he is constantly on the move. When his parents discover the mythic Emerald Tablet in an ancient city buried beneath Egypt’s desert sands, his world is suddenly turned upside down. He decodes the ancient text which leads him to a distant world.

On that world, a slave girl begins a journey towards a destiny she cannot imagine. But when an ancient foe rises from the ashes, they will be brought together by forces that neither understands.

Leoros, who dreams of being like the heroes in the comic books, must fight to unlock the secrets of the universe to save a people he never knew existed.

Atlantia, whose bloody visions wake her in the night, senses the darkness coming.

Together, they will face an enemy with the power of dark energy, lose a mentor to the assassin’s blade, and be betrayed by someone they trust. Their fight for the future is just beginning, and before it is over, a final sacrifice must be made. When the darkness comes, will they stand and fight or will they join it?

There is darkness in everyone.

Do you wish you could have the power of a god? Would you use it for good…or for evil?

Silverman combines spiritual alchemy, Greek mythology, Egyptian gods and culture to produce a science fiction fantasy series that, once you start reading, you just can't put down. His knowledge of Egyptian culture and history is meticulously portrayed throughout Legends of Amun Ra - The Emerald Tablet. This is a must read for any sci-fi fantasy reader. You will instantly become a Silverman fan.

My Review:

The gifted children are apprentices of the Priests of Amunapprentices of the Priests of Amun they are suppose to become priest and protect the people.
An Evil King is determine to fight the priests and take over. Will Leoros and his friends succeed in defending the city?

Through Chris and a drama taking place deep in the Utah backcountry, Madeline learns that the pristine canyons she loves are being threatened, and she must overcome many obstacles if she is to find peace and her place by the river.

kimheadlee-headshotAbout the Author

Kim Headlee lives on a farm in southwestern Virginia with her family, cats, goats, and assorted wildlife. People & creatures come and go, but the cave and the 250-year-old house ruins — the latter having been occupied as recently as the mid-20th century — seem to be sticking around for a while yet.
Kim is a Seattle native (when she used to live in the Metro DC area, she loved telling people she was from “the other Washington”) and a direct descendent of 20th century Russian nobility. Her grandmother was a childhood friend of the doomed Grand Duchess Anastasia, and the romantic yet tragic story of how Lydia escaped Communist Russia with the aid of her American husband will most certainly one day fuel one of Kim’s novels. Another novel in the queue will involve her husband’s ancestor, the 7th-century proto-Viking king of the Swedish colony in Russia.
For the time being, however, Kim has plenty of work to do in creating her projected 8-book Arthurian series, The Dragon’s Dove Chronicles. She also writes other romantic historical fiction under the pseudonym “Kimberly Iverson.”

Review: The Blasphemy Box by Mandy Behbehani

Book Description

 April 24, 2013
“You know that nightmare you’ve always had? The one where you wake up one day to find yourself fat, frumpy, fifty and alone? I’m living it.”
Maddy Nelson has an idyllic existence: a handsome husband, great kids, a comfortable lifestyle. One morning soon after she turns fifty, however, she wakes up in her San Francisco home to find her husband Steven announcing that he’s leaving her for a woman half her age. And a third of her size.
Ouch!
Feeling totally unmoored and grieving for her married life and husband, Maddy finds herself thrust into an unfamiliar and uncomfortable world of middle-aged singledom. There, she must come to terms with her situation and embark on her new life: divorce proceedings, single parenting, internet dating, and trying to earn a living. It’s enough to drive her over the brink.
To help her cope, she shares her struggles in a smart, wry blog named The Blasphemy Box, after her ex-husband’s obnoxious habit of having her drop a quarter into a wooden box every time she said something off color. Her madcap middle-aged adventures find her devoted readers who identify with her challenges.
In time, Maddy creates herself and finds happiness in the arms of a good man, and a fulfilling new career as a novelist.

                                                                     My Review:

This is a nightmare not many people want. Maddy hears her husband tell her that he leaves her when she is fifty one. She can't believe her ears even more when it is for a woman half her age. She keeps on hoping he will be back one day.

Her kids try to help where they can, but will Maddy let go and chose for herself? Will she be able to find new love? She wil finish her book that she been trying to write for so long with help of a friend she becomes stronger and believing in herself, will she see the love that is infront of her eyes after she is lied and cheated on? buy the book and find out!

                                          My Review:

What a great book, I loved every second of it. Synn is a great character that you just love. He fights hard for his people and himself, Queen Nix is evil, she doesn't care about people she uses them.
It is a refreshing story you find steam punk in it, adventure, manipulation and a little romance. Every character is well thought and they all have there story. Well written I highly recommend it.
